About This Site

Simon and Charlotte and their Great Dane puppy moved to Quirky Woods in 2017. A lush and quiet 2.4 hectare (6 acre) valley on the edge of Maketu village, yet only a hop and two skips to two local beaches. Also ideal as a base to explore Tauranga, Mt Maunganui, Rotorua and the wider Bay of Plenty area.

They are excited about hosting  people (since January 2018) who wish to simply relax and recharge, in lush natural surrounds. Three unique rooms are offered, providing different levels of seclusion and distance to shared amenities. A perfect hideaway for couples, disconnect from technology – connect to each other…..
